Firstly, please click on 2009 which appears on the top right of this webpage under BLOG ARCHIVE to view all new posts, otherwise click on OLDER POSTS at the bottom of each page.

There are lots of craft samples to inspire - thank you to all that have contributed, I apologise for not capturing everyone's work as there was some great scrapbooking also achieved on the day. If you have anything you'd like to add - just email a photo my way.

Another great Craft Marathon with a new record finishing time .... 5.15am! Crazy I know but the drive to get some projects finished and the constant stimulation of the brain kept us wanting more time to craft rather than to sleep. Thank goodness that Saturday sport was washed out. Most achieved their PB and hung out to the wee hours.

The new venue proved to be perfect at Berowra Soccer Club with great lighting, comfy seats, light weight tables, a toilet safely inside and convenient access to the kitchen. It was definitely more intimate with tables set up in a square with everyone facing each other which is perfect for 10, however, should we have more next time a different set up will be arranged.

The 2009 tentative dates for our craft marathon event are to still be confirmed with the hall, however, you may like to jot these down in order to keep them free just in case.

TERM 2 - 15 May 2009
TERM 3 - 21 August 2009
TERM 4 - 30 October 2009

Cost to attend is worked out depending on how many join us for the session and divided up evenly. ie. 10 attended Term 1 so the cost was $10 each plus $1 each for incidentals such as coffee, tea, milk, sugar and toiletries.

If you would like to attend the next session, please email me today as I have already started to receive some bookings c/- craftymarg@optusnet.com.au. Places are limited due to tables and room available.

NEPHEW GIFTS by Marg

I made these little books for my nephews and have created a pocket on the back page to hold a DVD which I plan to slot a slideshow in of photos of the relevant nephew and family. Products used were precut booklet, Modge Podge, patterned paper, rub ons, stamps, ribbon and binder rings to hold it together.

XMAS DECORATION by Marg

Well I've finally made something for myself to keep. This is my third Christmas decoration that I've made using this cut out which is still available from Catchy Crafts in Hornsby. It truly is so simple to cover with printed paper and embellish with photos, stickers and ribbons.

CUTE LITTLE BOOKS by Rosa

Rosa has been very productive and grown with her knowledge in all aspects of papercraft. Here you see two little books she has made for her children, again using patterned paper applied with Modge Podge and embellishments. Absolutely stunning!

XMAS BOOK by Robyn

Robyn created this lovely Xmas Book which she purchased from Kmart but the kit is also available from Catchy Crafts at Hornsby. Kmart Christmas stock is currently being discounted, so make sure you pop down there if you are keen to pick up a bargain.

Robyn purchased several kits and combined them so they could include all her Santa photos and a copy her Christmas cards. It looks lovely Robyn and I'm sure will be treasured by your family for years to come.

PATCHWORK by Heidi

Heidi joined us for the first time and what a great talent she is - it was very inspiration to see such intricate work being completed at our craft day and good to see all types of craft projects being undertaken. How gorgeous are these angels! It's great to hear that Heidi will be joining us again at the next one and is keen to try some papercraft projects as well.

Our craft marathon day/night is open to all crafts as it is just a chance for you to find time to work on the things you love plus enjoy some social banter which at times can be quite educational and always a guaranteed good laugh.

LETTERS by Rosa

These letters were purchased from Berowra Home Biz and are a little more difficult to cover with printed paper due to the uneven top section.
With reference to the J for JOSHUA, Rosa came up with the idea to place some paper over the letter and then shade to identify the top section. Rosa then had a template to cut out her selected printed paper and then applied to the wooden letter with Modge Podge. Rosa had these letters mounted onto her kids doors the following day!

OFF THE PAGE by Rosa

Rosa did this mirror up for her daughter Amelia (reflected in the mirror) - great job Rosa!

CARDS by Jennie

Thanks Jennie for these great samples of some of the cards you created at our craft session. Isn't it nice to have some cards all ready to go when the need arises! Well done.

CLOCK by Rosa

Thank you Rosa for sending a photo of this lovey clock which you made for your friend & neighbour's 70th birthday. Rosa purchased the clock kit from Catchy Crafts at Hornsby and applied the patterned paper with Modge Podge, she also had some photos reduced so they would fit in the small square frames. Rosa it looks fabulous and I'm sure your friend was very touched by your handmade gift.
