OFF THE PAGE

Marcia made this lovely "J" for her sister where she is going to write a message on the back. Well done, I look forward to seeing more of your crafty work!

The second photo here is of decorative letters attached to a canvas to be hung in my son's bedroom. The papers used are from the new "All Boys" scrapbooking range from Kaszazz.

Both items were made by:
  • Painting around the edges of the timber letters (and back of Marcia's).
  • Mod Podge is applied to the letters and scrapbook paper attached.
  • Once dry, edges are trimmed with a craft knife and sanded.
  • Apply another coat of Mod Podge to the top side to seal and protect.
  • Embellishments are then added to decorate.

CARDS CREATED BY GINA

Some of these lovely cards Gina has created by using a Cuttlebug embossing template or used embossed paper, she also painted the cupcake with real paints which give it a lovely finish. Well done Gina, they look fantastic.

CARDS FOR THE BOYS By Marg

Cards created by using off cuts, background stamps, ribbon and gem stones - who said boys can't have a bit of bling. Gotta love those turtles - hey girls!!! (in joke)

Robyn decorated letters purchased from Home Biz in Berowra ($2 each) to create this Christmas display for her home. A more detailed photo to be posted asap - I'm sure the girls that attended last night would be interested to see what Robyn did with her display when she got home. Thanks Robyn for this photo.

OFF THE PAGE PROJECTS

Many people have shown an interest in wooden projects and are keen to learn how to apply scrapbooking paper to wooden letters, numbers or booklets, even chipboard pieces and alphabets. This Friday at our craft day I will show you how to create these interesting pieces. What you will need to complete a project is:

  • MOD PODGE (waterbase sealer)
  • WOODEN LETTER/s, NUMBER/s OR BOOKLET
  • PAINT BRUSH OR SPONGE TO APPLY SEALER
  • PRINTED SCRAPBOOK PAPER TO DECORATE
  • RUB ONS
  • EMBELLISHMENTS ie. ribbon, gems, flowers
  • PENCIL AND SCISSORS
  • SANDPAPER
  • SHARP BLADE/CUTTING KNIFE
  • CUTTING MAT

You should be able to purchase Mod Podge from either Spotlight, Riot or Catchy Crafts at Hornsby. Mod Podge is a waterbased sealer, glue and finish for all surfaces. You may wish to paint your item with a complimentary colour prior to applying the printed paper - this could be done on the day or prior.
