GOOD FUN HAD BY ALL
OFF THE PAGE
Both items were made by:
- Painting around the edges of the timber letters (and back of Marcia's).
- Mod Podge is applied to the letters and scrapbook paper attached.
- Once dry, edges are trimmed with a craft knife and sanded.
- Apply another coat of Mod Podge to the top side to seal and protect.
- Embellishments are then added to decorate.

SPECIAL EFFECTS
CRAFT DAY - THIS FRIDAY 1 AUG 2008
You will need:
TABLECLOTH or LARGE PAD to work on.
CRAFT SUPPLIES ie. cardstock, stamps, stamp pads, photos, embellishments, etc.
TOOLS ie. paper trimmer, tape. scissors.
COFFEE MUG
SLIPPERS are optional
FOOD SUPPLIES ie. lunch, dinner, nibblies
It's a good idea to try and preplan what you may wish to work on so you can get straight into it when you arrive. Now is a great time to think about making CHRISTMAS CARDS or maybe a gift for FATHERS DAY. I'll be working on two books for my Dad and my father-in-law, similar to the book you see above that Nick made for a school project.
If you've recently purchased some stamps from either KASZAZZ or STAMPIN' UP but haven't used them yet, why not bring them along and make use of them by getting ideas from your fellow crafters. You may have some ideas that we may share.
Please don't hesitate to contact me should you have any questions.
GIFT IDEA FRAMED
Here are a few tips on how I put it together.
- I purchased a frame from our local discount shop and went to work at setting up a layout.
- I used a soccer ball stamp to create the background plus little soccer embellishments which I made to add an extra element to the page.
- Using my home computer I enhanced the photos by making the background black and white and only keeping the subject in colour. I did this because the opponents were in bright blue and yellow which didn't compliment our team's colour.
- Using my own printer software I was able to select different sized photos which allowed me to also make them small enough to give the appearance of a negative strip.
- The result was a very unique gift which was received with delight.

MARATHON CRAFT DAY - MAY 2008
Congratulations to Tara who had a personal best by completing 25 scrapbook pages!
A special mention of Robyn who came for the day, went to a 40th and then returned to scrap into the wee hours of the morning. Another special mention to Stacey, Marcia and Gina who travelled some distance to share the day with us - it was great to have you there.
The last remaining ladies were home and in bed by 5am ... I know what you are thinking and yes we do have a problem but now you know why it's called a MARATHON CRAFT DAY!
STAMPIN' UP DEMONSTRATION
Marelle showed us the wonderful range of Stampin' Up products and everyone enjoyed the make and take table. A sample of the make and take card is seen below in pale blue. The maroon card seen further down this page was created by using a VersaMark stamp pad or as some may know it as Perfect Medium which leaves a watermark slightly darker than the actual card. Lots of goodies were sort and almost all have been collected and/or delivered.
NEXT SCHEDULED CRAFT DAY
I can officially confirm that our next Craft Marathon is booked in for Friday 1 August 2008 - please contact me via craftymarg@optusnet.com.au to book in and confirm your table. Please note that no demonstration will be arranged for the next event. Finally I truly look forward to seeing you there.

CRAFT IDEA
Next time you are thinking of making a card for someone why not try out this idea.
I received this decorated and embellished wooden letter from my good friend Gina, a lovely message was written on the back with a permanent marker. This form of greeting card can now be displayed decoratively in my home forever. Thanks Gina.
BEROWRA CRAFT DAY 16 MAY 2008
DETAILS
Start time is 9am until whenever ie. usually past midnight (16 May). Cost is $15/person (includes coffee/tea and the first 10 booked in also get a table). Located in the Old Berowra District Hall, Berowra Waters Road Berowra (second round about).
CRAFT DEMONSTRATION
I have arranged to have a craft demonstration at 7pm by Stampin' Up - to attend this is free, so if you aren't joining us for craft on the day you are more than welcome to join us just for the demonstration at 7pm where you will learn some great techniques and shown some excellent craft ideas.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE CRAFT MARATHON EVENT
What we do at our Craft Marathon Days is work on our own projects whether it be scrapbooking, cardmaking or whatever craft you are into. Everyone brings their own gear ie. tools and supplies. A more detailed suggested list can be emailed to you upon request.
A great bunch of ladies join us each term as I run this special event once a school term. It is a kid free zone. You may decide to leave when school finishes but return when the babysitter arrives, otherwise, there are always several that stay for the whole duration. It's whatever works for you.
It's BYO food, so you will need to consider lunch, dinner and nibblies. Quite often several of the girls put in to share a Thai takeaway meal and happy hour is also an option.
NOTE
The feedback from attending these craft days is always positive with many friendships formed, a laugh or two shared plus the bonus of sharing ideas from this crazy hobby that we all partake in.
