RAINY DAY CARDS By Marg

Cards don't have to be complicated - just by using simple laying you can create something special. Best of all, it's a great way to use up your offcuts.
The hardest thing about card making is coming up with the ideas and where to start. I find once you've created something that you are happy with, it's a great idea to make a couple more and try to incorporate different colours. Once you have a bit of a production line going, you'll be surprised how many cards you can produce. Below are a few samples of the same stamp, same layout but using different colours.

I love using the little diamantes that are now available for papercrafts - they just add that little bit of bling. I've also used diamond glaze on some of the petals as well as the bodice above to give a little 3D effect.

I've used diamond glaze on the thong straps below to give this card a bit of 3D effect, along with the mounted frangipani.
I find it hard to know what to do with rollagraphs, best advice is to roll an extra print and cut some of the content out such as the elephant and lion below, then mount with foam doubled sided tape to give it a bit of depth. Rollagraphs are also good for creating backgrounds. Diamond glaze was used on the little circle love hearts which were cut using a hole punch, this once again just lifts the card from being totally flat.
